Down To Earth™ is another one of the premier plant and garden care lines headquartered in Oregon we sell at The Indoor Earthworm, your premium indoor grow store for the St. Louis metropolitan area.
In 1977, Down To Earth™ established its roots in Eugene, Oregon to meet the needs of a growing segment of American consumers who were looking for organic materials, not plastics and synthetics. They began making their own organic fertilizers made from plant, animal, or mineral resources and combined with organic matter as single ingredient nutrients or complete blends. Even our boxes are made out of recycled, unbleached paperboard so you can shred it directly into your compost pile when they are empty.
Down To Earth™ now works out of a manufacturing plant in Eugene in partnership with processors and suppliers to produce enough premium fertilizer, soil amendments, compost, and potting media to satisfy the needs of home gardeners, commercial growers, nurseries, and garden centers across the United States. Our current line of products include:
Dry Down To Earth™ products come in sizes ranging from 2 ounce pouches to 50 pound bags and our liquid products come in four sizes, 1 quart, 1 gallon, 2.5 gallon, and 5 gallon.
There are seventeen nutrients essential to healthy plants, each with different functions and an imbalance in each one shows different signs in the plant. At The Indoor Earthworm, our staff will look at your plant and give you recommendations on which products are best for the current condition of your plant. Fourteen of these come from the soil and absorption into the plant depends on the amount of rainfall or the pH of the water, temperature, and the nutrient content of the soil. These elements ensure the soil is properly aerated, and roots are able to absorb water and expand. Down To Earth™ products are formulated to balance the soil so you get the biggest, healthiest plants possible without chemicals that you or other animals might ingest.
No matter what brand of fertilizer you buy, they all have three numbers on the front of the package that tell you the percentage of three key nutrients by weight: nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. A blend with 0 on the label means that product is suitable for plants that have an adequate supply of the nutrient and the focus is on providing nutrients that are lacking.
Signs your plant may not be getting the right balance of nutrients include:
Down To Earth’s Potting Media is Organic Materials Review Institute verified and suitable for use in organic crop production under the USDA National Organic Program Rule and contains beneficial bacteria and/or mycorrhizal fungi to stimulate rooting, vigor, and optimum plant development. The Down To Earth™ website www.downtoearthfertilizer.com has a full video library and free PDF downloadable guide to help you understand everything about gardening.
We carry Down To Earth™ products because of their effectiveness with our other best selling line Nectar For the Gods, another natural and organic line of mediums for growing all types of indoor and outdoor plants out of Oregon.
At The Indoor Earthworm, we will help you figure out what the best products are for you based on what your plants look like and/or the results of your soil test. Whether it is a bigger pot and new soil or grow lights, we have everything you need to grow happy and healthy plants indoors or out all year long.
